Sustainability
Centrals aims to continually create new opportunities and improve social and environmental returns for our people and the communities in which we operate. In doing so, we recognise that achieving this commitment involves outstanding performance in all areas of the business. Centrals total business management approach to sustainability involves projects, materials, resources, systems and procedures, and corporate governance.
Centrals works to embed sustainability from tender to project completion and in our permanent office facilities through a range of philosophies and initiatives including:
- A number of personnel are trained as Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professionals under the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia’s rating tool. (We have used the Infrastructure Sustainability Tool to help direct and document our approach to Sustainability.)
- Procurement and purchasing has been streamlined with sustainability and efficiency benefits kept front of mind
- Emission control systems, fuel burn, additives to assist with optimum fuel efficiency and servicing schedules are all taken into account when purchasing new equipment. This reaps benefits financially, environmentally and socially through lower fuel costs and less greenhouse gas emissions.
- Taking all reasonable steps to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business
- We continue to service existing clients, winning extensions of key contracts and also widening our client base with winning of new projects which helps to ensure the ongoing success of the business and opportunities for our people and other Stakeholders.
