Centrals is proud to be delivering the Albany Highway Southbound Passing Lane Project at Bedfordale for Main Roads Western Australia, improving safety, traffic flow and journey reliability along this important transport corridor.

Delivered within a live highway environment, the project showcases Centrals’ capability to safely manage complex civil construction while maintaining traffic movements and minimising disruption to road users. The works incorporate major earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, road widening, traffic barriers, sealing, signage and associated road infrastructure.

Challenging ground conditions and significant changes in earthworks quantities have required the project team to continually adapt construction methodologies, resequencing activities and develop practical solutions to maintain progress. Innovative approaches include maximising the beneficial reuse of suitable site-won materials, reducing unnecessary haulage and imports while supporting improved environmental outcomes.

Safety remains central to delivery, with particular focus on traffic management, heavy-vehicle interaction, occupational hygiene and protecting both our workforce and the travelling public.

The Albany Highway project demonstrates Centrals’ strengths in collaborative project delivery, technical problem-solving, environmental responsibility and responsive construction planning. Working closely with Main Roads WA, our subcontractors and supply partners, the team continues to deliver a high-quality infrastructure outcome while responding effectively to the challenges of constructing within a busy operational road corridor.
